The Smarter Bear camp stove is a new portable camp stove concept designed to offer greater portability, heating versatility, and safety.  Cooper Perkins first explored the camp stove space by brainstorming and testing a wide range of concepts, from submersible ignition heaters to cappuccino-style steam heaters.  The preferred hot-cup configuration required extensive analysis and testing to achieve high efficiency and low toxic gas output, benefits for which patents are being applied for.  Cooper Perkins also worked with an industrial design firm to design and fabricate an industrial design model in parallel with an engineering prototype that allowed Smarter Bear to engage potential investors, manufacturers, and distributors in preparation to launch the product.
