The Power-Tap® cycling computer and analysis software started life as an idea by Gerhard Pawelka. As founder of Tune Corp., Gerhard conceived the business and product idea, assembled the team, raised venture funding, organized credit lines, landed US and European distribution deals, successfully launched the product, and finally negotiated Tune’s acquisition. After the company was purchased by Saris Group, Cooper Perkins continued to assist the company on continuing product development efforts, including the conceptual development of an improved sensor hub. In the meantime, the torque-sensing technology we invented back in 1998 continues to be, by far, the leading technology in the market with an unsurpassed combination of quality, cost, accuracy, and usability.
