Al Costa

Al Costa is a mechanical engineer with vast experience in a number of different industries including commercial and military satellites, semiconductor capital equipment, superconducting motors, and synchronous condensers. Before Cooper Perkins, Al worked on the design and analysis of the rotor and polesets for a superconducting electric motor that is being considered for the DDX Destroyer warship currently being built by the U.S. Navy. Being so versatile with a wide breadth of experience, Al often finds himself attached in some capacity to nearly every project that passes through Cooper Perkins! He graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Aerospace) with honors. In his spare time, Al is a part-time professional guitarist. Using his engineering skills, Al was able to build his own custom electric guitar, which he uses in live performances.
